The evolution of TBC with emerging thermal spray technologies

Workshop on thermal spray coatings technologies and characterization

  • Teslova 3, Plzeň, Czech Republic
  • 10th - 11th April, 2018

Main objectives

Workshop on thermal spray coatings technologies and characterization

The objective of the workshop is to present the insight to the principle, technical aspects and development of Thermally Sprayed Thermal Barrier Coatings systems. The presentation of advanced thermal spray technologies, such as suspension or solution plasma spraying will be done in comparison with well-established processes. New types of coatings materials and variability of their microstructures will be also discussed. Besides the spraying process, the methods of TBC’s properties evaluation will take an important part of the presentations. Altogether, the workshop will bring a deeper understanding of the sophisticated coating system that plays irreplaceable role in power, aerospace or automotive industry.

Who should attend

Managers of sophisticated productions, products development and design engineers, technologists, scientists, lecturers and students interested in the field of surface engineering.

Research focus

The IPP Materials Engineering department research is focused primarily on a special field of materials engineering – interaction of plasma with solid and liquid phase. It is one of the few laboratories in the world engaged in plasma-material interaction at both major levels: interaction of materials with high-temperature plasma (for example in fusion devices, such as tokamaks), as well as plasma technologies for preparation of new materials, using so called low-temperature (thermal) plasma. more information
